![]() ![]() So finally the problem is, that at least for me Catalina cannot Upgrade it self with system on Fusion Drive! But it can make fresh (clean) installation on Fusion Drive with no problem. New installation is not using the previous "Macintosh HD - Data" on disk2s1 at all so I just got rid of that with simply deleting that APFS volume. What I've got then after extra, were two volumes of "Macintosh HD - Data" one from before on disk2s1 and new one on disk2s5 (where was "Macintosh HD" before) and "Macintosh HD" (System) moved to disk2s6. I have used Disk Utility in Recovery mode to Erase both "Macintosh HD" and "Macintosh HD - Data" and after that I run Catalina installation again and it went through with no complaints. One more update: Finally I was able to fix the above issue, unfortunately not the way I like. Thanks for any inputs, thoughts, suggestions. I really don't wanna render these machines un-bootable being stacked somewhere in an upgrade cycle. I know Virtual Machine is not the same thing as real one but I'm now really afraid to proceed with an upgrade on my Late 2015 iMac with 2TB Fusion Drive inside or my Mac Mini also with Fusion Drive in. I have upgraded my MacBook Pro to Catalina already, everything went fine and I don't see any major issues. ![]() I have also tried the same upgrade for virtual machine with latest Mojave installed upgrading to Catalina on 'more standard' single hard drive configuration and that worked fine. but after few mins same window comes up again. Than I started upgrade from Catalina installer 'USB', everything went well from beginning, but after couple restarts I've got unfortunate message:ĭoesn't matter how many times I click 'Restart', installation starts again saying like 22 mins left. I made virtual machine in exactly same conditions with two Hard Drives combined in APFS Fusion with latest version of Mojave installed. Update: I'm asking because I have tried in Parallels Desktop.
